Each June, Copenhagen transforms into one of the world’s most influential destinations for commercial interior design during 3daysofdesign. More than 550 design brands, manufacturers, and independent studios gather across the Danish capital to showcase emerging ideas in workplace furniture, lighting, materials, sustainability, and hospitality design.
For commercial furniture professionals, architects, interior designers, and facility leaders, the event has become one of the industry’s most valuable opportunities to experience where design is heading. Rather than emphasizing spectacle, 3daysofdesign focuses on thoughtful craftsmanship, human-centered spaces, and products designed to improve the way people work, heal, learn, and connect.
As Creative Design Manager at WB Wood, Mel Casipit attended this year’s festival to explore the latest innovations and identify ideas that can help clients create more inspiring, functional, and flexible environments.
Why 3daysofdesign Matters to Commercial Interior Design
Unlike many global furniture fairs, Copenhagen’s design festival integrates showrooms, historic buildings, public spaces, and neighborhoods into one immersive experience. The 2026 theme, “Make This Moment Matter,” encouraged exhibitors to create experiences centered on mindfulness, sustainability, craftsmanship, and meaningful human connection.
Across nearly every showroom, several workplace design trends consistently emerged:
- Residential-inspired commercial furniture
- Wellness-focused workplace environments
- Modular furniture systems
- Sustainable materials and circular manufacturing
- Sculptural minimalism
- Hospitality-inspired office design
- Flexible collaboration spaces
Together, these themes reinforce the continued evolution of the office into a destination that supports collaboration, creativity, and employee well-being.
Standout Commercial Furniture Brands from 3daysofdesign 2026
Deoron: Curated Design Through a Slower Lens

Located on Copenhagen’s Paper Island, Deoron brought together more than 30 independent designers and emerging brands in an industrial setting that encouraged visitors to slow down and engage more intentionally with each collection.
Highlights included sculptural seating, handcrafted tables, ethically produced textiles, and adaptable furniture systems that balanced artistic expression with commercial functionality.
The exhibition reflected one of today’s strongest commercial furniture trends: creating spaces that feel curated rather than standardized.
Kristina Dam Studio: Sculptural Minimalism Meets Craftsmanship

Kristina Dam’s showroom showcased a refined collection of furniture, lighting, accessories, and artwork rooted in Scandinavian simplicity.
Natural materials, timeless forms, and exceptional craftsmanship demonstrated how minimal design can still create warmth and character—qualities increasingly sought after in today’s workplace, hospitality, and residential-inspired office environments.
For commercial designers, the collection illustrated how fewer, better-designed pieces often create more memorable interiors.
Vitra: Wellness and Ergonomics Continue to Lead Workplace Design

Vitra introduced several noteworthy product updates, including the Bascule Lounge Chair developed with Studio Œ.
Its self-adjusting seating mechanism and soft, enveloping upholstery demonstrated how ergonomic design continues expanding beyond task seating into wellness rooms, quiet spaces, libraries, and collaborative lounges.
Additional product introductions included new lounge and stool-height versions of the Mynt and Mikado collections, along with expanded configurations of the Anagram modular seating system.
These launches reflect growing demand for furniture that supports flexibility while maintaining residential comfort.
Nuura: Lighting Designed Around Wellness

Lighting played a prominent role throughout the festival, with Nuura presenting one of the week’s most immersive showroom experiences.
Set inside a historic Copenhagen building overlooking Marmorkirken, the showroom paired handcrafted glass lighting with wellness programming that included breathwork sessions, light therapy, and opportunities for quiet reflection.
Rather than simply displaying products, the experience demonstrated how lighting contributes to emotional well-being, productivity, and hospitality-inspired workplace environments.
Audo House: Hospitality Continues to Influence Workplace Design

Few destinations capture modern Scandinavian living as completely as Audo House.
Part boutique hotel, café, retail space, and showroom, the venue continues to blur the line between commercial interiors and hospitality design.
Its 2026 exhibition, Quiet Grandeur, introduced seven new furniture collections while encouraging visitors to experience products naturally throughout lounges, dining areas, meeting spaces, and guest rooms.
For organizations redesigning offices, Audo House demonstrates how hospitality principles continue shaping employee experience.
FRAMING: Global Brands Under One Historic Roof

Hosted inside Copenhagen’s historic Odd Fellow Palace, FRAMING assembled more than 40 international furniture, textile, and lighting brands into one highly curated exhibition.
Alongside established manufacturers familiar to North American designers were emerging European companies bringing fresh perspectives on sustainability, craftsmanship, and material innovation.
The exhibition reinforced the growing influence of boutique manufacturers within commercial interiors.
Five Commercial Design Trends That Defined 3daysofdesign 2026
- Residential Comfort Continues to Shape Office Design
Furniture increasingly emphasized soft forms, textured upholstery, warm materials, and relaxed seating that encourages longer, more comfortable collaboration.
- Wellness Is Becoming Standard
Quiet rooms, restorative seating, biophilic elements, thoughtful lighting, and sensory experiences appeared throughout nearly every major exhibition.
- Flexibility Remains Essential
Modular seating, movable furniture, adaptable workspaces, and multi-functional products continue supporting hybrid work environments.
- Sustainability Is Expected, Not Optional
Manufacturers consistently highlighted responsibly sourced materials, circular production methods, repairability, and long product lifecycles.
- Authentic Craftsmanship Matters
Hand-blown glass, natural wood, artisan textiles, and visible construction details reinforced growing appreciation for quality over quantity.
More Than a Furniture Fair
One of the defining characteristics of 3daysofdesign is its welcoming atmosphere.
Beyond the showrooms, community events—including the festival’s Long Table Dinners—encouraged meaningful conversations among designers, manufacturers, students, and design enthusiasts from around the world.
Those interactions reinforced that great design extends beyond products. It is equally about the communities, cultures, and relationships that shape the built environment.
Looking Ahead
As organizations continue reimagining workplaces, healthcare environments, educational facilities, and hospitality spaces, the ideas presented during 3daysofdesign offer valuable insight into where commercial interiors are headed.
From wellness-focused furniture and modular planning to sustainable materials and residential-inspired comfort, the 2026 festival highlighted a shared commitment to designing spaces that are not only functional but also deeply human.
For the WB Wood team, events like 3daysofdesign provide inspiration that informs projects across workplace, healthcare, education, government, and hospitality environments—helping clients create spaces that support people today while remaining adaptable for the future.
